ADD-A-AMP INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Installation Instructions (Install time should be about 30-60 minutes):

GOAL: To install your aftermarket amp without having to cut or splice into your factory radio wire harness. Provides 4-channel rca outputs for your aftermarket amp and a amp turn on wire.

Step 1: Identify all of your parts. You will have three parts.

Step 2: Make sure and have your car off and key out of the ignition. After you have removed your factory radio you will need to identify the power/speaker harness on the back of your radio. The plug you are looking for is gray in color.  You will need to remove that plug and set it aside for later in your installation. Remember to not pull them from the wires. Pull from the plug portion of the cable only.

Step 3:  After you have removed the factory power/speaker plugs from the back of your radio you will need to connect the mating plug from the vehicle specific harness (included with your order) to the back of your radio.  This harness has male and female ends, once you connect this harness to the back of your factory radio you will then connect the factory power/speaker plug(s) that you removed in step 1 into the mating connectors on this harness. FYI, there is one plug (4-pin) coming of off the vehicle side of the harness that is not used.

Step 4:  Next connect the Front/Rear RCA Output Cable & vehicle specif cables to the Main interface. Each cable connects into one side of the interface. Each plug only fits into one connector.

Step 5: Connet the RCA's (there are 4 of them) to the rca's going to your aftermarket amplifier you are installing. This interface is capable of handing a 2 or 4-channel amplifier. If you are installing a 4-channel amp, then all four RCA's will be used. If you are installing a 2-channel amp then only 2 will be used. Put tape over the other 2 rca plugs to prevent any noise.

Step 6: Connect the remaining Blue wire to your aftermarket amp turn on. This will turn on your amp when you turn on your radio.

Step 7:  Test everything to ensure installation is good before re-installing dash. Once everything is good re-install your dash and finish your amp install.

Step 8: There is a Black wire coming out of the vehicle specific harness. This wire will not be used in all installations. Test your amplifier for continuity from the RCA shield to the ground connection terminal. If continuity exists, do not connect this black wire, isolate and do not use. If there is no continuity or if there is high resistance between these two points, connect the black wire to the radio’s ground wire.
